Dennis Kenyon with his full size helicopter display.
Another of the show highlights this year was the full size helicopter piloted by Dennis Kenyon.Dennis is an ex Royal Air Force fixed wing pilot who has been involved in rotary wing flying instruction for 30 years.
He has +13,000 flying hours and is CAA qualified to instruct and just to show he can still put on a show when required, he is a former world freestyle aerobatic champion !.
Dennis's shows on both days had the audience holding their collective (pun intended) breath as he put the little helicopter through a routine than can only be described as truly amazing. "What that guy can't do with his helicopter is not worth doing" was the quote from Dave at Db sound before the show started and he was right !
Dennis had the machine skimming the tree tops (dropping behind the trees at a couple of points), pirouetting on one skid and nearly going inverted as he did near vertical tail turns. I don't think anyone present took their eyes off the helicopter during the whole display but despite flying an amazing routine he still managed to talk, via the radio, to the audience describing what he was doing and how the maneuvers were done.If you didn't catch Dennis's show make a note of it for next time. Dennis is a true professional and we look forward to seeing him again next year.
